Hallelujah! It’s a miracle!

Six-year-old Edmund comes in the house after doing his chores.

“Mommy, I need to wash my hands, cause some of the eggs were covered with chicken poop.”

And he did.

With soap.

Who knew? Boys do want to be clean.

At least from sticky chicken poop on their hands.

  1. I don’t even want to ask about eggs covered with sticky chicken poop. Yuck.

  2. Now that I think about it, the eggs weren’t sticky wet. The poop was dried, does that help?

  3. love it.

seriously though, what is it about boys and being disgusting????

  5. Wow, here’s hoping my Edward will be there one day.

It’s not today. That’s for sure. The boy bounced his soot-covered feet all over my white coverlet. Grrr.

  6. Now how did you teach the child to wash his own hands without being told? WITH soap?? You’re putting something in their Turkish Delights aren’t you?

  7. I don’t get it. Who likes chicken poop (or any poop) on their hands?!

Still, it’s funny what it takes to motivate a young hand washer. I’m guessing bug guts wouldn’t quite do it. (Doesn’t for my son at any rate.)

And while dung may justify handwashing, dung beetles do not apparently. I learned this yesterday.

And who knew a diet of dung could make a beetle so pretty?
